South Asian History Month
We have heard about the Black History Month know let’s shout about the South Asian History Month (SAHM). Salma created history by launching UK’s first and only SAHM in summer 2011 and June became the official SAHM month, and everything South Asian is celebrated. Salma has brought together the worlds of education, dance, drama and story-telling through Indian and Pakistani arts, culture and heritage. Time travel or stay in the here and know with us through dance, gestures, motifs, books, text, maths, de-code secret messages and explore influential south Asian people past and present and learn about their positive contributions made. There are fifteen separate educational workshops that are available for everyone to benefit from. The workshops have been created to provide maximum educational benefits. Props and resources have been arranged in order to further expand and enhance the learning experience for all the learners. (Please note SAHM workshops are available throughout the year).
